You've come to the right place! This Tuesday, we have our regular new-DVD-news, and we'll get to that in a minute. First, I want to tell you about two inspirational documentaries that I watched this past weekend, Disconnected and Darius Goes West - The Roll of His Life.

Three students. One month. No computer. Could you do it? This is the premise of Disconnected: A Documentary.

The setting: Carleton College, a small, private college in Northfield, Minnesota. The cast: Three students, Andrew, Caitlin, and Chel. The assignment: A documentary film

Andrew, Caitlin, and Chel plan their documentary film project and decide to go computer-less for a month and film it. This is their documentary...their assignment - and I give them an A. No internet. No Facebook. No word processor. No email. It's incredible and sometimes very funny to watch these students navigate and negotiate their new "disconnected" lives.  Do their grades suffer? Do their relationships endure? Do they manage mentally? Do they figure out how to put paper in the typewriter??? (Do they cheat??) It's an extremely challenging project with interesting results. It will really get you thinking.

Darius Goes West - The Roll of His Life  Darius Weems is 15-years old and has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a fatal degenerative disease. He wants to raise awareness about his illness. He wants to enjoy his life. He wants MTV to "pimp" his ride (his wheelchair)! Darius and 11 of his friends set off cross country - from Georgia to California on this quest. This is a ride that no one (including the viewer) will ever forget.

Here's what else is new to the shelves today:
