African Exhibit - City of Hope in Tanzania - with Darien Students

A Photographic Exhibit

On display in the Art Gallery March 2 - April 19

The City of Hope (COH) is a humanitarian effort whose focus is to address the orphan crisis and the issues of chronic poverty on the continent of Africa.  By sending mission teams and working with local communities, the effort is trying to help disadvantaged African children experience hope and a positive future in their homeland.  To date, COH have transformed a community by providing clean water, and building and providing equipment to local schools.  Now being built is a children's home for 300 children, a medical center and developing agri-business projects.  Phase 2 will include a "Dream Center" - a place for training the local people in practical life-skills.  This is the first in a series of "Cities of Hope" that will be built across Africa.

Please stop by and view this special exhibit.

The Art Gallery is located on the Library's Lower Level.
