Shipwrecked on an Island Distant by Matthew Golino
A storm had come to plague my ship,
The winds were moving like a whip,
And then the boat began to tip.
Oh, the ocean's heart was cold.
My heart a pounding, mind a teeming;
Could it be that I was dreaming?
More so than before was seeming.
Towards the twilight sun I rolled.
Moving faster, pace was quicker,
Soul was peeling like a sticker,
Burning like a basket wicker,
Cast unto hither shores of old.
