Former New York Times food columnist and bestsellling author Amanda Hesser and her Food52.com co-founder Merrill Stubbs had a mission: to discover and celebrate the best home cooks in the country. Each week for 52 weeks, they ran recipe contests on their site, Food52.com, and the 140 winning recipes make up The Food52 Cookbook.

The book also features Amanda and Merrill’s expert comments on every recipe, plus behind-the-scenes photos, tips and variations, reader responses, and brief features on the contributors.
Amanda Hesser has been named one of 50 women game-changers in food by Gourmet. A longtime writer and editor at the New York Times, Hesser has written the award-winning books Cooking for Mr. Latte and The Cook and the Gardener, and edited the essay collection, Eat, Memory. Her latest book, a New York Times bestseller and the winner of a James Beard award, is The Essential New York Times Cookbook. Hesser lives in Brooklyn with her husband, Tad Friend, and their two children.
Merrill Stubbs is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in London. She has written for various publications, including the New York Times’ “T Living,” Edible Brooklyn, Body+Soul and Culinate.com, and she was the food editor for Herb Quarterly magazine. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband.
A reception and book signing will follow the author presentation. Books will be available for purchase. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
