Friday Night Feature - 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

A group of interstellar outlaws team up to save the galaxy from a villain who seeks ultimate power in this comic book space adventure. Peter Quill was just a young boy when, devastated by his mother's death, he was swept into the stars by Yondu, the leader of an eclectic band of space scavengers known as The Ravagers. Twenty-six years later, Quill has adopted the nickname Star Lord. Subsequently thrown into prison, Star Lord teams up with an assassain, Gamora, a furry bounty hunter, Rocket, a tree-like creature named Groot, and a fearsome warrior, Drax the Destroyer. In the process of making a daring prison break, Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and Drax recover an orb that  houses an Infinity Gem - one of six precious stones that harbors incredible powers that could pose a dire threat should they fall into the wrong hands.

U.S. Marine Sergeant Logan Thibault returns from his third tour of duty in Iraq, with the one thing he credits with keeping him alive -- a photograph he found of a woman he doesn't even know. Learning her name is Beth and where she lives, he shows up at her door, and ends up taking a job at her family-run local kennel. Despite her initial mistrust and the complications in her life, a romance develops between them, giving Logan hope that Beth could be much more than his good luck charm.

Friday Night Feature - 'Are You Here'

Friday, January 16th at 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. - Are You Here (2013) Starring Owen Wilson, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Poehler, Laura Ramsey, Jenna Fischer, and Melissa Rauch; Rated R; 113 minutes; Presented with captions for the hearing impaired.

Owen Wilson stars as Steve, a glib TV weatherman in Virginia who spends his free time picking up women or getting stoned with his deadbeat best friend Ben (Zach Galifianakis). When Ben learns that his father has died, he and Steve travel to the funeral and the reading of the will, where they discover that Ben has inherited an estate worth more than $2 million dollars while Ben's sister got some cash and thinks her brother is in no position to take care of their father's business. Steve romances Ben's father's girlfriend (Laura Ramsey), while Ben tries to get his life in order.

In “The Judge,” Downey stars as big city lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge (Duvall), is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before.
