The Darien Technology Foundation Center at the Darien Library is a state-of-the-art computer lab, equipped with an 82-inch instructional monitor. In the fall and spring of each year, the Library offers a full slate of free technology classes in the Technology Center for Darien residents, those who work full time in Darien, and non-resident Contributors to the Library at the $300 level. All classes are free, and the classes are taught by Library staff and outside instructors, all of whom are paid from contributions to the Friends of the Darien Library.

The Darien Library has a wireless network that will allow patrons to connect to the Internet using their own laptop computers and internal or external WiFi (802.11b) network cards. Wireless network cards are available to be checked out for use within the library. To check out a wireless card, please speak with the Help Desk Assistant in the Power Library on the Lower Level.

The Darien Library has two types of scanners available for in-Library use:
These portable scanners allow the user to scan photos and other images, as well as text documents. Users can save their scanned documents in the following file formats: .jpg, .gif, .tif, .bmp, .pdf, and .doc. Optical character recognition is possible on both scanners, which allows users to scan text documents and convert them into editable electronic files.
