Darien Library's Oral History Project

Throughout the course of Darien Library's One Book, One Community program, teens will be interviewing members of our community about their memories of and experiences in Darien. These video interviews will be hosted on our website and will become a rich, collective history of Darien. If you would like to participate, either as an interviewer or an interviewee, please contact Sarah Ludwig at sludwig@darienlibrary.org or (203) 669-5225.

The first meeting of TAB

The first meeting of Darien Library's TAB (Teen Advisory Board) is Thursday, February 5 at 7 pm in the teen room. If you would like to join TAB, email me! We already have lots of people signed up, and it's going to be a lot of fun. One of the major privileges of TAB is deciding what will be written on the teen room walls! You will also be planning events and helping me decide what books to buy.

What does the TAB do?

* Plan and promote events--what do YOU want to do in the library?
* Volunteer for children's library events
* Help decorate the teen room
* Give advice on what the teen librarian should buy: books, movies, games, and more!

When and where does the TAB met?

* The TAB meets once a month in the library on Thursday evenings.
* We'll provide snacks!

Who can join?

* If you're a teenager and you use the Darien Library, you are welcome to join
* If you've NEVER used the library, you're welcome to join, too!
* You don't have to be able to come to all the meetings--drop-ins are welcome

If you would like to join the Teen Advisory Board, either leave a comment on this post or email me (the teen librarian) at sludwig@darienlibrary.org.

Study night!

The Darien Library teen room is holding its first-ever study night this Tuesday night (the 13th) at 6:30 pm. Want a study break? Come on down to the teen room to have a cup of coffee and a snack! Our librarians will be happy to help you with your homework.

Refreshments will be available until 9:00 pm.

See you then!
