In 1961, the year that Roger Maris broke Babe Ruth's homerun record, LIFE asked Yankees shortstop, Tony Kubek, to take photos of his teammates, including Maris, Mantle, and Yogi Berra.  The photos were never published, but are now available to view online, along with Kubek's remembrances of his teammates.
