Please note the Apaches of the Darien YMCA Guides and Princesses Nation will be collecting and transporting the most needed goods to the most affected areas of Queens and/or Brooklyn this Sunday. Please help us with this effort by dropping off any/all of the most needed supplies (see list below) in the front parking lot of Hindley School in Darien between 8AM and 11AM THIS SUNDAY NOVEMBER 18. Darien's 1st through 5th grade sons, daughters and Dads of the Darien Nation will be there to help load the items and bring them down to various Occupy Sandy and FEMA Disaster Centers.
Most needed items are:
-Blankets
-Cleaning Supplies & Hardware (Brooms, Mops, Flat Shovels Cleaners, Bleach)
-Rubber Gloves
-Masks
-Tape-Duct and/or packing and/or Scotch Tape
-Garbage Bags (Heavy Duty)
-Plastic Storage Bins
-Candles
-Flashlights
-Lights/Lanterns
-Batteries (especially AA)
-Diapers and Wipes
-Toiletries (Soap, Shampoo, Deodorant, Sanitary)
-Medical-First Aid, Hydrogen Peroxide
-White Vinegar
-Anything that produces heat
-Baby/Toddler food and/or formula
-Can openers
Please note while they are in urgent need of blankets, the centers DO NOT want/need any more clothes.
Cash donations will be accepted as well. We will purchase items with whatever cash is donated and include them with the other items we bring.
