Philip R. Craig 1933-2007

Philip Craig’s mystery novels are one of the reasons I'm looking forward to this summer’s vacation when my family and I will finally spend some time on the Vineyard. While I’ve often spent summers on Cape Cod, I’ve never been to Martha’s Vineyard and I was already anticipating the visit by reserving Philip Craig’s new mystery, Vineyard Stalker.

So it was a sad surprise when I saw the Scribner’s memorial notice in today’s NY Times Arts section. I somehow missed any obituary that appear but found this beautiful tribute in the Vineyard Gazette .

I'm still looking forward to our trip to the Vineyard. I'll just have to think of something to do when I'm there as a tribute to a writer who made the Vineyard real for me and who gave me a lot of enjoyable hours of summer reading
