The National Book Foundation has just posted interviews with the 2007 National Book Award winners and finalists in each category - fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and young people's literature. The answers reveal some interesting and quirky details about the authors' processes in writing their books (fiction winner Denis Johnson worked on his book, Tree of Smoke, for 25 years before it was finally published!) as well as how the authors feel their writing plays a role in encouraging the popularity of reading in this country.
