Student Vacation Week Movies

Grade K and up with an adult in the building

Elementary students who like to laugh are welcome to join us during their February break for these side-splitting movies: Arnie the Doughnut and So You Want to be President?.

Free tickets will be distributed 15 minutes prior to the program.

Preschool Vacation Week Movies

Wednesday, February 21st from 10 to 10:30 a.m.
Ages 3 and up with a caregiver

This school vacation week preschoolers are invited to watch popular children's stories on film including Knuffle Bunny, Hondo and Fabian, and How Do Dinosaurs Get Well Soon?.

Free tickets will be distributed 15 minutes prior to the program.

Nutmeg Book Award News

There's lots of Nutmeg news for the month of February!

We are all on the edge of our seats waiting to find out which of the 2007 nominees will be voted #1. The 2007 winners will be announced in the beginning of February. We will post the winners on this blog as soon as they are announced.

On February 1st, the new 2008 Nutmeg nominees will be announced. Check the blog or the Nutmeg website for the list.

On Wednesday, February 28 from 6-7 p.m. we will be having our Nutmeg book group. The title for the group will be announced on February 1st. Call us at 655-1234 x117 to register.

Finally, thank you to all who helped make our Nutmeg @ Nite game show a huge success! The contestants blew us away with their Nutmeg knowledge and rebus-solving abilities. Good job everyone!

Storytime Spaces Available

I've heard from many parents this week that they're so sad they missed the storytime deadline. Well, don't despair! all hope is not lost. There are spaces available in the following storytimes. If you're interested in filling one of the open spaces, call the Children's Department (655-1234 x117) for registration info.

Walking Toddlers (Born to Read Storytime)- Wednesdays at 9:30
- Wednesdays at 11 a.m.
- Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m.
2 Year Olds (Side by Side Storytime)
- Fridays at 9:30 a.m.
3 and 4 Year Olds (Totally Preschool Storytime)- Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m.
- Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.

And, for your information, storytimes are open to children whose parents are: Darien residents, full time Darien employees, or contributors to the Darien Library Annual Campaign at the $300 level.
