Library Detectives - Explore Clues @ the Library

Grades 3 and 4 are invited to learn about the Library's online catalog with instruction on finding children's books. Learning about the Library's collections as well as its organizational system benefits children now, as students, and helps them develop a research framework that they can transfer to any fact-finding missions! Plus, the class is a blast. Go on a treasure hunt in the Library and discover hints and clues! The class meets in the Children's Room.
Choose either:
Thursday, September 13 from 4 to 5 p.m. OR
Wednesday, September 26 from 4 to 5 p.m.
Register by calling the Children's Room at 655-1234 x117 beginning September 4.

Creative Corner - a Bookgroup for Terrific Toddlers

We love each one of our storytimes... in fact, sometimes we become positively gleeful about our favorite age groups and programs. And we know toddlers love the Library; they've visited in droves this summer. That makes us doubly pleased to announce, not a new storytime, but a new bookgroup for toddlers. We're calling it Creative Corner, and it's here for the fall.
Creative Corner is for children 18 to 30 months with a parent or caregiver. As always, we do ask that you make arrangements for any other siblings. This sensory program will explore nature, crafts, and books.
Unlike our giant storytime lottery, parents register for Creative Corner by telephone beginning September 4th. (655-1234 x117). It's an experimental program, so space is limited. Sign up for one 4-week session.
Tuesdays, 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. September 25 to October 16 OR October 23 to November 13
Fridays, 9:30 to 10 a.m. September 28 to October 19 OR October 26 to November 16
We hope to see many of our youngest patrons this fall!

Summer Reading Club Finale

Over 125 people came to our Summer Reading Club Finale, an evening with author Dan Greenburg.
Dan Greenburg was as funny and entertaining in person as his books are. He talked about his newest series of books, the Secrets of Dripping Fang. He also told us about his amazing experiences staying at a ranch with tigers and lions. His young adult book Claws is based on these experiences.
Congratulations to all of our summer readers!!
