Art Exhibition: Six artists from the Rowayton Arts Center Satellite Gallery Program exhibit their artwork in the Main Reading Room until October 24.
Web Site Spotlight: Darien citizens are invited and encouraged to attend a town meeting on emergency preparedness on Thursday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Town Hall. Find out more on the Town's website at www.ci.darien.ct.us.
CHILDREN’S ROOM
Caregiver Workshop - Pre-Literacy Skills for Little Ones: Thursday, October 6, 6:30 – 8 p.m., parents and caregivers of newborns, toddlers, and preschoolers are invited to learn skills to use now with children that will help them when they begin reading. Register by calling the Children’s room, 655-1234, x117.
Teen Advisory Board: Join the Teen Advisory Board, Wednesday, October 12, 6 – 7:30 p.m., to plan Library events for teens, suggest ideas for teen programs, recommend teen materials for Library purchase, and assist as volunteers for Library events for children. The Teen Advisory Board is for middle and high school students. If you are interested, notify the Children’s room, 205 655-1234, x117.
Sleepytime Storytime: Tuesdays, 6:30 - 7 p.m., for children 3- to 5-years-old. Wear your pajamas. No registration is required.

Book Discussion Series: “Saturday” by Ian McEwan, will be the subject of the next session of Darien Library’s book discussion series, “Browsing the Best Sellers” on Sunday, October 2 at 2:30 p.m. Jordon Pecile, Professor Emeritus at the United States Coast Guard Academy, is the discussion leader.

BookMANIA! Children ages 7 to 9, Friday, September 30, 4:15 – 5:15 p.m. Share a story – fantasy, historical fiction, humor, or folk tale, and then enjoy activities crafts, and games reflecting the theme of the book. Snacks provided. Registration is not required.

Bienvenue! Benevenuto! Willkommen! However you say it, welcome! Our Fall Foreign Fim Series begins this month, so mark your calendars now! The first of five films will be shown on Friday, October 21st. Here's the line-up for the month:
