A Vacation Planner's First Stop

By the time June is over, most of us will be mentally ready for vacations near and far. Then again, there are the details. Let us assist you with your to-do list. First, we'll help you load up the carry-on and the beach bag with great books, then we'll even help you get your passport.

Our Summer Book Sale begins on Saturday, June 8 at 9 a.m. and runs until noon on Monday, June 11th. As usual, We've got some great stuff to put out for this popular event. Here's a photo of Sreya getting ready for the sale:

And, yes, you did read correctly(!); we are having a Passport Day here at the Library. It will be held on Saturday, June 16th, from 9 to 12 downstairs in the Program Room. A joint effort with the USPS, we're happy to be working again with the friendly folks from the Darien Post Office! Applications will be taken for anyone needing a passport. So, whether you need a new passport, a renewal or replacement, this will be the opportune time (and let's face it, the selection of reading material for the while-you-wait time can't be beat!). Click here for more information.

This is such a convenience! (Pictures can also be taken at that time!) I renewed my passport at our last Passport Day in December 2005 and remember it being so comfortable and civilized. For more information and applications, call Peg Andral at the Darien Post Office at 655-2595.

In the frantic rush to relax this summer, when it comes to these important details, we've got your back.
