Constructive Conversations
We're declaring May, "The Month of the Podcast" here at Darien Library.

Construction is underway(!), and we'll begin a series of interviews this week with some of the fine folks involved in the new Library building project. As the weeks and months go by, Janet and I will be interviewing members of the Building Committee, Town officials, Louise, Alan, our architect, Peter Gisolfi, building experts, and others. We're excited about having this opportunity to keep the public informed and up-to-date on the progress of the New Darien Library. We will upload the interviews to our website and stream them as podcasts. First up, will be Dot Kelly, who is not only a Board member and heavy Library user, she is also a well-respected chemist and an expert in energy and enviromental services (locally, we have Dot to thank for leading the charge for Darien's Hazardous Waste Disposal Day, the Compost Bin Recycling effort, and the dredging of the pond at Woodland Park).
As you may or not know, the new Darien Library will be a "green" building. So lucky are we to have Dot involved in this project; not only is she extremely knowledgeable, she brings to the project a contagious enthusiasm ("It's fun!" she declares!). Thank you, Dot for all that you do and for agreeing to meet with us for a chat!
Check back later in the week to listen by visiting our Events blog, and clicking on podcasts.

This interview will be the first of many, so, grab a hardhat and continue with us on our journey to the New Darien Library!
