Eragon

Based on the book by the same title, Eragon the movie features snappy costumes, earnest heroes, and Rachel Weiss as the voice of the dragon Saphira. While I wouldn't compare it with Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, it certainly won its way into many young hearts. While many folks were wowed by the book, I'm really quite fond of the movie as well. Especially the music. I couldn't get that Avril Lavigne song out of my head for weeks. Come watch Eragon on the big screen with us!
Based on the 2003 book by Christopher Paolini. Rated PG. 104 minutes.

Teens win Summer Reading

Nick, Natalie, Ali, and Kelly won raffle prizes in the teen summer reading program this week. Here are some excerpts from their entries.
Teens enter each book they read into our summer reading website. We ask teens how each book changed their lives. One reader said of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, "It showed me that all good series come to an end and that with determination you can finish anything." Another teen wrote about Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson. "It showed me that life throws unfair things your way for you to deal with."
Kudos to our teens for their insight. We'll reward you with prizes!
