This workshop provides information on how to create a nonprofit organization. The session will cover the legal requirements of filing for tax exempt status and will focus on the steps a new nonprofit can take to create a successful organization.
Participants will learn:
• The federal and state requirements for creating a nonprofit organization
• How to get started in planning and launching a new nonprofit
• How to set up a basic administrative platform for your nonprofit
•Local resources available to help nonprofits
About the speakers
Cynthia L. Russell is Principal of CrossSector Partners, a management consulting firm specializing in providing services to nonprofit organizations. Maurice K. Segall is Director of the New York and Fairfield County, CT, Program for Pro Bono Partnership, and organization that provides direct legal services to nonprofit groups and educational resources to help new nonprofits.
