Class begins Tuesday, March 15th at 6:30 p.m.
Final class is Tuesday, April 19th
Try your hand at writing a story! This class is open for all writers--memoir, biography, autobiography, sci-fi, historical fiction, thriller, romance, or anything inbetween! Learn development of place, types of conflict, character goals or wants, creation of tension, and overall atmosphere that the reader is placed within. In-class writing exercises and discussion of stories of well-known authors will be included. This writing class is open to anyone, and any level, interested in trying their hand at writing.
Participants of this program will have access to the Darien Library fiction collection, its how-to write collection and various periodicals on shelf. After completion, the participants will be invited to have their work critiqued by the Writer’s Workshop Group that meets monthly. As well, a celebratory evening of readings, inviting family and friends and the public to hear excerpts of their stories, will be organized in June.
