Dr. Jonas Zdanys - Sunday, April 22 at 2 PM

For over 35 years, poetry lovers in Fairfield County have been treated to Poet's Voice, a series of readings that brings the written word to life. This year, Darien Library is proud to present Jonas Zdanys, who has published 17 volumes of poetry and is also renowned for his translation work. His poems are especially meant to be heard and savored -- in his own words, "[P]oems aren't just something you read. You experience a poem. You feel a poem.  You taste the language of a poem. Poems explore all that life can and, many times, should be."

Please join us on Sunday, April 22 at 2 PM, when Dr. Zdanys will read his poetry and answer questions, followed by a wine and cheese reception. His newest book, The Kingfisher's Reign, features poems written in a lyrical narrative form, which promises to be a very unique listening experience. Come celebrate National Poetry Month at Darien Library!
