Peter Duker, a Darien native, decided to go with a little adventure after college and joined the Peace Corps. After spending over a year in Sierra Leone teaching high school level physics, Peace Corps made the decision to temporarily evacuate due to an ebola outbreak. While stateside he wishes to share with his home community his knowledge of Peace Corps service and the country he grew to love.
If you have any interest in the Peace Corps, want to hear a volunteer’s experience or just want to learn a little bit about an incredible culture in a distant land come and listen to this presentation. Along with the presentation about the Peace Corps process, this specific volunteer’s service and Sierra Leonean culture you will also get to experience this wonderful culture with an example of local dress and a tasting of local cuisine!
Additional parking for evening and weekend Library programs available on Thorndal Circle (behind Nielsen's).
