What makes some new products and services wildly successful, while most fail to find buyers? How do some entrepreneurs’ efforts deeply satisfy customer needs in new ways, while others’ ideas are rejected?
The good news that is there is a scientific method to evaluate what customers will buy, and you can use it to find out if your product or service is ready for the market — or to get it ready for success in the market.
Inventor and Innovation Sherpa Joe Nadan invented, innovated and/or worked on many products and services that are used by millions of people, including EZ Pass, CDROM, and 16:9 HDTV for which he received a 2002 EMMY for Scientific and Technological Advancement. He is Professor, Management of Technology and Business Innovation, at the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering.
His message is that you don’t need to be a scientist to apply scientifically-proven formulas and methods to increase the probability of success for a product or service before it is created. Dr. Nadan will first show entrepreneurs, investors, and anyone wanting to launch a new product, how to reduce risk by applying an Outcome-Driven-Innovation (ODI) method to their enterprise. In the second part of his presentation, Dr. Nadan will demonstrate a vastly-improved brainstorming technique to develop new business opportunities.
Dr. Nadan’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session, and then a business networking reception where refreshments will be served. This event is co-sponsored by the Darien Entrepreneurs Group and the Darien Chamber of Commerce.
