A great book to help you get through the wet
would have to be "City Of Falling Angels" the new one from John Berendt. Instead of fretting and bemoaning our flood state, we can pretend we are in Venice, meeting the wonderful characters that the author introduces us to and sipping a lovely Peach Bellini at Harry's. My favorite character? The Rat Man!
The other one that we are having some good wonky fun with would have to be "The Largest U.S. Cities Named After a Food" by Brandt Maxwell. For instance, did you know that Connecticut has no towns or cities with Spanish names? Planning a Sunday Drive? You may wish to avoid taking one in Mississippi. It has the highest number of traffic deaths in the nation.
From one of my favorite readers comes the following suggestion. Dana M.(not her real name) has been having fun with "Everyone Worth Knowing" by Lauren Weisberger. Dana reports to me that while she was not enamored of "Devil Wears Prada" she is enjoying this particular piece of fluff.
Did you know you can renew on line? You can! All you need is a computer and your library card!
Ciao Bellas!
