Less than a week before school starts!

And we are starting to look at our own progeny with a less than loving gaze. Perhaps we need a reminder that they really aren't THAT bad.

So our Cirque de Cinema pick of the week is the 1961 shocker, The Children's Hour with the all star cast of Audrey Hepburn, Shirley MacLaine, James Garner, and Miriam Hopkins.

Little Mary Tilford not only always wants her own way, but is also a congenital liar, spiteful and is, in general, a real piece of work. When her teacher Karen Wright (Hepburn) has to discipline her, Little Mary goes off to her powerful grandmother (Hopkins) and tells her that Karen and fellow teacher Martha (MacLaine) have "unnatural" feelings for each other. Within days, the teachers are faced with empty classrooms and relationships which are in tatters never to recover.

So see? They're really not THAT bad are they?

Happy Weekend!
