Here they are again, folks! These wonderful, wonderful kids! Still struggling! Still hoping! As the clock of fate ticks away, the dance of destiny continues! The marathon goes on, and on, and on! HOW LONG CAN THEY LAST!
It's back! The Circ de Cinema pick of the week! Not that there was any demand for it, the Desketeers just enjoy it.
So it's Friday afternoon and it's been a very long week and you think that you are dog tired. Honey, you aren't even close.
Our pick for this week is Sidney Pollack's 1970 classic, They Shoot Horses Don't They?.
It's the Depression in America. An emotionally fragile Gloria (Jane Fonda) and a desperate Robert (Michael Sarazzin) partner up and enter a dance marathon in order to win a cash prize and a chance at stardom. Will it be their redemption or the end to their dreams? Gig Young won the best supporting actor Oscar for his role as the smarmy master of ceremonies.
So turn up the A/C, put up those tired feet and relax. It has been a long week, but you really aren't as tired as you think you are.
Happy Weekend!
