Mondays in March at 10am
Join us every Monday at 10am: March 4th,11th, 18th and 25th, for screenings of TED Talks that focus on technology and complement our 21 things for 21st Century Parents technology series.
TED Talks (Technology, Entertainment and Design), started as a one-off event but was so popular that it spawned an annual conference in 1990, in Monterey, CA.
TED Talk speakers are given a maximum of 18 minutes to present their ideas. The topics are wide ranging but some past TED Talks have included social media, global engagement and even a whale named Mr. Splashy Pants.
March 4th: Our Digital Lives These talks will focus on the internet, social media and all of the ways we connect through technology
March 11th: Open Source, Open world These talks will focus on Arduino, teaching kids code and open source technology
March 18th: Tech Breakthrough These talks will focus on new breakthroughs in technology and how they might change they way we live
March 25th: This Is Your Brain On Gaming These talks will focus on the effects of gaming on your brain, re-engaging boys in learning through gaming and games for girls
