Registration for the Spring 2015 storytime lottery opens Monday, March 2nd, 2015 and runs through Monday, March 16th. Registration is a lottery, and notification will be Saturday, March 21st. Storytimes will begin the week of Monday, March 23rd, 2015.

Maker Family Challenges!

Bring your little ones and your big ones to our Maker Family Challenges! Join us in the Storytime Room for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) challenges that the whole family can do together. Stations will be set out for you to explore and have fun! Drop-in anytime, no registration necessary, ages 5 and up.

Saturday, March 14 at 11 am - 12 noon:

Build a boat from recycled materials, and then test if it floats! Great for budding engineers and curious minds.

Saturday, March 28 at 11 am - 12 noon:

Using the easiest of all art techniques - collage - make a family self portrait using our recycled books!

Family Film Festival: Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month, and in honor of notable women throughout history we will host our second Family Film Festival in honor of women. Every day at 2pm starting Wednesday, March 11th through Friday, March 13th, we will show a film celebrating historic women and girl empowerment. View the list of films below.

Mulan. Rated G, 88 minutes. Grades K+. Watch the trailer.

Thursday, March 12th at 2 p.m.

Ballet Shoes. Rated PG, 85 minutes. Grades 3+. Watch the trailer.

Tuesday, March 10th from 4:00 to 4:45 p.m.

Is your child learning to read? Reading Education Assistance Dogs will visit the Children's Library to encourage beginning readers and promote literacy. Register for a 15 minute reading session with a certified therapy dog. Readers ages 5 and up.

Place a hold on the Tween Tab today! The Children's Library circulates Tween Tab iPads for kids ages 9 to 12. 

The Tween Tabs come with pre-loaded apps selected by the children's librarians. There are over 70 Apps which highlight the following Kids Nonfiction Glades: Bio, Languages, Facts, Traditions, Animals, Create, Fun, Self, Sports, Poetry, STEM, and Then & Now.
