For Parents:

To participate in Minecraft Fridays, children should already have their own Minecraft account, which can be obtained through the Minecraft creator Mojang. Patrons that use the Minecraft app on an Apple or Android product should double check to ensure that they have a username and password associated with their account. The Children's Library has a limited number of usernames that children may use to play with if they do not have their own account.

Once a Darien Library user confirms that they have a Minecraft username and password, they should come visit the Help Desk on the lower level of the Library to become approved/whitelisted to play on the Fairfield County Minecraft Server. Once a player has been permitted access to use the server, they may play, build, and dig with other Fairfield County Minecraft Server users both in the Library and at home! If a player lives in another town in Fairfield County, they will need to visit the IT department at their home library to become approved to play on the server.

If you are experiencing any difficulties obtaining a Minecraft account at home or determining if you already have one, feel free to come to the Library to speak with a Children's Librarian. We are happy to help!
