Kenny and his family - who live in Flint, Michigan - spend the summer visiting his grandmother in Birmingham, Alabama, during a time in the country when African Americans were treated differently than white citizens. Kenny and his siblings, who are part of a loving African American family, have never visited the South and encounter a very different way of life. During his family's time in Birmingham, Kenny discovers his own personal courage and perseverance in the face of adversity. Watch the trailer for the 2013 movie.
