The Children's Library recently conducted a T|E|A Room class with Makey Makeys, which are a type of invention kit. Users can turn anything and everything into a keyboard or buttons. Our intrepid group of 5th and 6th graders created a variety of fun projects, including a Banana Piano.

The Makey Makey is a small computer chip that communicates between a computer and an object. The computer can't tell the difference between the Makey Makey and itself, and registers all movements as a part of the computer. It's especially fun because users can turn anything into part of a keyboard, which is how we made our Banana Piano and other fun projects!
