Monday, October 5th from 5 to 6 p.m.
Ages 8 and up
Join us to meet Newbery Honor winner Cece Bell as she talks about her New York Times bestselling graphic novel memoir EL DEAFO. Going to school and making new friends can be tough. But going to school and making new friends while wearing a bulky hearing aid strapped to your chest? That requires superpowers! In this funny, poignant graphic novel memoir, author/illustrator Cece Bell chronicles her hearing loss at a young age and her subsequent experiences with the Phonic Ear, a very powerful—and very awkward—hearing aid.
This is a unique chance to connect with a major publishing talent and an opportunity for everyone to think closely about their own growing up experience.
Check out one of Cece Bell's books before the big day!
Open - no registration necessary. Tickets will be distributed 15 minutes before the program. In the Louise Parker Berry Community Room.
