• Darien residents will be issued a library card immediately. You may apply in person or online.
• All programs and services available to Darien residents are available to those who work full-time in Darien. You may apply for a card by showing proof of employment.
• Others may use their valid hometown library card or register by showing ID with their address.
• The following Library items are available for loan to Darien residents and Friends of the Library at the $300 level:
  • Laptop computers
  • Digital cameras
  • MP3 players
• The following Library services and programs are available to Darien Residents and Friends of the Library at the $300 level:
  • Registered programs and storytimes for children
  • Interlibrary loans
  • Technology classes for both children and adults
  • Registered book discussion groups
  • One-on-one technology or reference training sessions
  • Home access to selected databases
  • Reserves on DVDs
• Darien Library has a $50.00 fine limit for members on items that have been returned late or have been billed for replacement.
  • If fines exceed this limit, patrons may be unable to check-out items or access some library services.

*If no one else has requested the material, we are happy to renew most materials twice. You can renew by phone 655-1234, through email, and by logging into your patron record.

**We offer a one day grace period and the maximum overdue charge for most materials is $5.00.
