LEED

Yesterday, we met with Bill Bobenhausen from Sustainable Design Collaborative to discuss our targets for LEED certification in the new library. The new library will be a Green Building. If we are able to achieve all of our environmental targets, we may get a Gold rating. I love the idea that the Darien Library, as a building, will be an educational model of environmental leadership. We will have a geo-thermal heating and cooling system, no boilers. And I can't wait to see the toilets that have two different buttons to push, depending on how much water you need.

The interior design committee reviews recommendations from Peter Gisolfi Associates and Whalen Berez Group.
