The Darien Library has two types of scanners available for in-Library use:

• Canon CanoScan LiDE 30
• Canon CanoScan LiDE 70

These portable scanners allow the user to scan photos and other images, as well as text documents. Users can save their scanned documents in the following file formats: .jpg, .gif, .tif, .bmp, .pdf, and .doc. Optical character recognition is possible on both scanners, which allows users to scan text documents and convert them into editable electronic files.
