This spring, Darien Library is kicking off its Oral History Project. Teens will be interviewing members of our community about their memories of and experiences in Darien. These interviews will be hosted on our website and will become a rich, collective history of Darien.
Information about this project:
- All teens aged 12-18 in Darien are welcome to be interviewers. You may conduct interviews in pairs.
- Interviews will take place in the library, and library staff will provide all of the necessary equipment, as well as help interviewers plan their questions.
- Interviews will take about an hour.
- Interviewees are encouraged to bring photos or other items (such as newspaper articles, theater programs, flyers, etc.) that help illustrate their stories--these items will be incorporated into the finished video.
- We are also looking for teens who are interested in editing sound and video, who might be able to help with creating the finished project.
If you are interested in conducting interviews, assisting with video editing, or learning more, please complete the application below.
