Louise is the library's fearless leader. When she's not reading about libraries, she reads travel books and cookbooks, trying what she reads about whenever she can.

Erica coordinates many of the adult programs in the library and can be seen around town, working with Darien's organizations. She likes to read non-fiction, especially memoirs.

Edie is the whirlwind behind our popular Wee Like to Move storytime. She is an educator, mom and knows an awful lot about kids' music!

Eileen loves to connect kids with that one perfect book... the book that will make them a reader. She is a school librarian when she's not in the Children's Library and when she reads books for grown-ups, she prefers historical fiction.

Alison keeps our books, crunches our numbers and makes sure we pay our bills. She likes to read psychological thrillers, loves dogs and is a crack skeet shooter.

Alan reads a lot of naval history and fiction and is always trying to get us to go play softball. Hasn't happened yet, probably never will.

A former member of the Children’s Room staff, Becky Hoover now works in Materials Management, placing orders and processing all new children’s, young adult, multimedia and periodical items, repairing damaged items, and maintaining catalog records. She continues to read children’s and teen fiction, and enjoys sci-fi, historical fiction, adventure, and non-fiction dealing with gross and disgusting subjects. Her dream is to someday publish a children’s book of her own.

When not appearing in major motion pictures, or hit TV series, he can be spotted by the paparazzi on Main Street. Ask him what he is reading!

Alex is a technology enthusiast who likes video games . He can often be found online reading about the latest tech trends.

Sally is a huge fan of audio books. The queen of multitasking, she can usually be found knitting, gardening or cooking, all while listening to books. Her reading tastes are eclectic, but she is especially fond of all things Austen.

Kyle’s a big fan of auto racing and the Midwest (Chicago and Milwaukee to be specific). He enjoys a fine cup of coffee no less than three to five times a day. His reading tastes are all over the map but likes books on business, technology, and entrepreneurship.

Sandy makes sure that our books and DVDs get back on the shelf when they come back to the library. She likes to reads romance novels and other beach reads.

Diane Lai is a full time library student whose main passion is Archival work. Ask her what dusty bits of fascinating paper she has handled lately.

Sarah divides her time between KLS and teen services and loves both equally. She reads mostly young adult fiction; her favorite characters are girl detectives, funny best friends, and people who prove everybody wrong in the end.

Shannon checks out as many books as she shelves. She is an avid manga reader, devours fantasy and science fiction, and enjoys anime and video games.

Elizabeth is the elegant mother of 4 children. She reads chapter books and YA fiction and has a knack for marketing. Elizabeth puts her mom and marketing skills to work for the library.

Claire is a film lover who recently finished her Master’s Degree in Library Science at Pratt in Manhattan. She reads widely, conducts programs for children from infants to tweens and can sometimes be caught running through the stacks.

Gretchen can't start the day without the New York Times. Her favorite authors are Joyce Carol Oates, Wallace Stegner and Stephen L. Carter. Her favorite book ever is Corelli's Mandolin. She has been a Habitat for Humanity Global leader for over a decade.

Blanche is our business and travel expert and a huge fan of UNC basketball and SEC football.

Kiera is a lover of children's books, especially those that are silly and/or feature giant chickens from New Jersey. She runs the program Stories on the Spectrum, a storytime for children on the autistic spectrum. Kiera enjoys helping reluctant readers, advanced readers, pre-readers, and everyone in-between.

You may know Veronica from her Organized Playgroups in town. She has a M.S. in Early Childhood Education and believes every child is gifted and ready to learn!

After spending several years in the Children's room and Technical Services ordering and processing books, Debbie is now our fundraising coordinator and the woman behind the glass on the second floor.

Stephanie keeps the sorting room humming. She can also be seen at the Friday night films where she has been known to appear dressed as a beekeeper as well as in vintage 1970’s attire.

Abby reads a wide range of books, but to the dismay and confusion of some, is especially intrigued by Scandinavian mysteries. Note: Abby would like to point out that as a non-Scandinavian, it is actually quite difficult to keep track of the author names in the genre.

Judy keeps our computers up and running. She is responsible for our amazing fall and spring technology education series and loves to help patrons learn how to use technology.
