A very good attempt to help all daughters-in-law to understand their meddling/well intended mother-in-law.
Brilliantly conceived novel about cricket playing immigrants trying to make their mark in the US. Though there is lot about the game of cricket it is also a story about an unusual friendsip and immigrant life in the NY metro.
First few pages are intriguing but lacks depth overall. It is a sad story about a father in Hawaii with a dying wife and two daughters with whom he has no real connection and is told in a very sitcom like style.
The Ransome's house has been robbed of everything when they are away for the night to watch an opera. The entire story is about all that follows when they have discovered about the robbery. The robbery itself has its own complicated cause. Mrs Ransome has a life changing experience in the following days. All this has been told very beautifully and brillantly and also humourously by Bennett.
It is about a dark birth secret behind a hot, young and brilliant archeologisit. Roberts has given us her usual plot but there is two love stories and the romance between the couples is very hot and interesting to read.
