Like having a website, your customers expect to see you on social media. People no longer look to email you their complaints or praise -- they are tweeting and Facebooking about you to their social networks. In this class, learn the basics of how Twitter and Facebook work for your business -- lessons you can apply to other social networks. You will also learn how to monitor social media, schedule your posts, and how to respond to your customers without becoming the next PR disaster.
Building 3D Houses in Floorplanner

Need to rearrange your house? Before moving a single couch, do the heavy lifting in Floorplanner first! In this class, you will learn how to import a floorplan and make a 3D model of your home. Use this tool to plan out a dorm room, a new house, or just make a 3D model of your favorite building.

Do you admire gorgeously designed cards, posters, and other stationary? Canva, a new service, makes designing your own photo-centric documents easy as drag and drop. You'll never have to use a pre-designed template from another company again when you can use Canva's beautiful layouts for your own projects.

As newspapers and magazines increasingly move online, a motley group of apps, publishers, and websites has sprung up to help readers discover and catalog the longform journalism they find online. This class will show you a variety of websites and services you can use for your journalistc reading pleasure, including Longreads, Pocket, Instapaper, and Byliner, and will provide you with the opportunity to start setting up accounts and a reading list to use at home or on your commute.
Genealogy: Ancestry.com Library Edition

If you are a beginning genealogist, have been working on your family for a while, or even an experienced researcher, you will come away with lots of hints and tips on how to successfully use this powerful database while researching your family tree. There are many features that you should be aware of to help you find those ancestors who don't seem to want to be found.
Genealogy: Heritage Quest

Genealogists need all the resources they can call upon when trying to find relatives that seem to be hiding. Heritage Quest, an often overlooked database, can be a great source in aiding that that pursuit.
In addition, this lecture will cover the use of Italiangen.org, a large database for families who lived in the five boroughs of New York City...of all nationalities.
