OpenOffice.org is a project of
many contributing software developers that aims to create a leading office
suite that runs on all major platforms. A prime example of Open Source
projects that are not owned or controlled by any single person or corporation,
OpenOffice.org's software is freely downloadable from their site for use
and modification. Very similar to Microsoft's Office suite, Open Office
is actually a derivative of Sun's Star Office. For more information see
