It Takes a Hero to Change the World.

This guy, D'Leh, is living peacefully in a hunter-gatherer village, when horse-raiders attack and kidnap his girlfriend and kill some of his people.  This is a big mistake.  D'Leh and his friends set out on an adventure that will take them around the world, and cause them to fight a number of men and beasts, and hopefully at the end rescue D'Leh's girlfriend.

Darien Library's First Annual Teen Writing Competition

This winter, Darien Library is proud to the first annual Teen Writing Competition. We invite ALL teens, grades 7-12, to submit their work. View the entry form below, which has all the details.

Teen writers, this is your chance to shine

The first annual Darien Library Teen Writing Competition has begun!

We have met a lot of talented teens here at the library and we know that many of you love to write. Now is your chance to share your writing and try for some great prizes. Not only is there a $100 for the winner in each age group and category, you will also have the opportunity to meet with published authors and have your work printed and read by a large audience. And can you imagine putting this on your college applications?

We're so excited to read your work, whether it's poetry, fiction, or non-fiction. If you have any questions about the competition, call me (Sarah) at 669-5225.

The deadline is February 20. For details, click here. Also, the entry form is attached below. Just download it and print it out to enter your work. Good luck!

PS: our monthly teen writers' group, WRITE NOW, is currently focusing on getting your work polished so that it can be submitted to the compeition. If you would like to join Write Now, shoot me an email or give me a call.
