This week's topic was Makers and Maker Culture. From robots and 3D printing to knitting and home improvement, we learned that almost everyone has a bit of a Maker in them. By participating in at least one of the Things listed below, you will be entered into this week's raffle (a giftcard to Etsy!)

Thing: In the comments section below, respond to the following: Everyone is a Maker of one kind or another. What kind of Maker are you? Have you explored Pinterest yet? What do you think?

Thing: Attend the Etsy Workshop on Tuesday, January 22 at 10am. Register.

Remaker

I do like to make things, but I find that often I find objects that I remake into something else like that old wooden sled that cannot be used becomes a bench made with left over pieces of fence posts for legs. I am one of those waste not want not kind of people and I think it is because I was raised by parents who immigrated to America with very little and worked hard to provide for our family. So when I see the old skis that have been discarded by its owner, I think ski chair and I goggle ideas and find ways to repurpose them. Of course, I have not found the time to do that yet, but I can always hope. I have an account on Pinterest and I use it mostly to pin new things I want to buy. But I think I will start pinning the things I want to make so I will have a virtual bulletin board vs. stray tear sheets from magazines all over my desk.

Pinterest

I have been a member of Pinterest for about a year now. I use it when I am exploring a DYI project. I pin ideas to my board that I find on-line.
