About the Caregiver Café

This year-long series of events is designed to provide respite and community support to caregivers of adult residents who are aging in place, especially those with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. The series will consist of a kick-off keynote event followed by monthly Caregiver Cafés.

Keynote: Caring for the Caregivers

The keynote event on Tuesday, September 17th at 7 p.m. will be open to the community at large, with a panel discussion, Caring for the Caregivers.

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker Ali Ramsteck (Darien Human Services)
  • Licensed Master Social Worker Shanon Jordan (Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association)
  • Richard “Dick” Helstein (Darien Resident)
  • Moderated by Gina Blum (At Home in Darien).

Caregiver Café Events

The monthly one-hour Caregiver Cafés will be open to local caregivers and the adults they care for. This café series will function as a way for caregivers to find a community of like-minded individuals with whom to share stories and experiences while enjoying fun activities in a relaxed environment. With new activities every month, you can count on leaving each Caregiver Café refreshed and pampered.
