Animation is a celebrated medium in film, but did you know that the first animated film was released over 80 years ago? Our "Art of Animation" film series will celebrate all types of animation in film. This week's film, "101 Dalmatians" (1961) was released by the Walt Disney Company after the financial slump of "Sleeping Beauty." Animators used a modified Xerox camera that eliminated the inking process that transferred the drawings from paper to the animation cels. This was essential in animating the spots on all of the dalmatians.
This film is rated PG and runs for 79 minutes. All ages welcome with caregiver.
