We will film a discussion of the coronavirus outbreak between Dr. Asha K. Shah, the associate director of infectious diseases at Stamford Health [Stamford Hospital], and David Knauf, the Darien director of health. We will post the video on our website at darienlibrary.org/coronavirus.

About the Presenters

Dr. Asha K. Shah, MD, MS is the Associate Director of Infectious Diseases at Stamford Health. She is a doubly board-certified physician in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, her medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, completed her residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and also completed a fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center.

David Knauf, REHS, MS, MPH has served the Town of Darien, Connecticut as the Health Director since 2008. David began his career in public health working for the Environmental Health Section of the Connecticut State Department of Public Health, then transitioned to the newly formed Farmington Valley Health District and helped guide its successful growth from a three town District serving a population of 25,000 residents to a ten town District serving over 100,000. David earned his M.S. Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his M.P.H. degree from the University of Connecticut. He is past-president of the both the Connecticut Environmental Health Association (CEHA) and the Connecticut Association of Directors of Health (CADH). He currently co-chairs both the CADH Substance Use Disorder and Advocacy Committees
