Please join us as we welcome Barbara Schmidt as she teaches us about Orchids. Orchids are one of the most common houseplants in America.

While this exotic flower is widely available, many do not know how to properly care for it. In this class, you'll explore how orchids grow in nature and learn the basic care instructions to keep them healthy and blooming in your home.

About The Presenter

Barbara Schmidt is the author of Orchid Care: For the Beginner, with a bachelor's degree in biology in chemistry and a teaching certificate in secondary science.

She has been raising orchids for over 14 years and is a member of the American Orchid Society's Education Committee and the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.

Between speaking engagements throughout the country, she continues to compete with her orchids, and has won a variety of first-place ribbons, including at the Philadelphia Flower Show.
