Read with a Teen

This program requires registration

Monday, October 18, 2021
5:00 pm - 5:15 pm
Courtyard

1 space available

Does your early elementary student want to practice reading in a low stress environment? Read with a Teen is a wonderful program where your new reader gets to read one on one with a local teen to practice their reading in a relaxed, fun setting. A two year research study at Durham University, Scotland showed that paired reading improved students’ academic achievement.

We keep each session no longer than 15 minutes so that your child won't get bored and so you have time to pick out some library books to take home!

Grades K-2

Library Mask Guidelines

Participants over the age of 2 should wear a mask at all times while in the Library building and in the Courtyard when social distancing is not possible. Presenters who are located more than six feet away from attendees may remove their mask to provide clear instructions. The health and safety of our patrons is paramount to us. Thank for your cooperation!

Due to the space limitations, masks are required at this outdoor program.

Weather-Related Changes

If the weather will be unfavorable on the day of an outdoor program, we will contact registered participants to let them know of any changes.

If you need any assistance with registering, please email Erika Walston at ewalston@darienlibrary.org!
