It's Going to be Out of This World!

Summer reading is the ultimate escape, and we want to invite all of our adult patrons to “Reach For The Stars." This year, we will have a celestial-themed reading challenge, fun prizes, and special events throughout the summer. Patrons can pick up their game maps at the Library’s Welcome Desk starting June 3rd. Registration is not required and patrons can play as many times as they want.

The grand prize is a one-year family membership to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

How to Play

Ends Friday, August 16th

  • Game cards will be available at the Welcome Desk.
  • Complete any of the four challenges on the celestial game card for an opportunity to win.
  • Return your game card to the Library between June 3rd and August 16th, and you will be entered into two drawings for a cooler bag full of library swag and books.
  • Every completed game card is a submission for the grand prize of a one year family membership to the American Museum of Natural History.
  • Play as many times as you want.
  • Winning game cards will be drawn on July 8th and August 16th.
  • The grand prize drawing will be held on August 16th.

Summer Reading Kick-Off Party
For All Ages

Join the fun!
Saturday, June 8th from 2 to 4 p.m.

All of the Library’s summer reading programs will blast-off with a Kick-Off Party. We'll share new books, introduce new genres, and you will receive a personalized reading recommendation. Stop by to pick up your game card.

We'll also offer prizes, ice cream, and teen and children’s activities taking place during the event.

Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11

Lecture and film screening
Saturday, July 13th at 2 p.m.

Paul Cardone, an amateur astronomer and space photographer will present “The Next 50: Where To Go After The Moon,” a discussion about the future of space exploration

Immediately following our special presentation, we will present the award winning "Apollo 11" documentary. This cinematic space event film features never-before-seen, large-format film footage of one of humanity's greatest accomplishments. Film is 93 minutes.

Your imagination can transport you to a whole new world… and sometimes a spoon full of sugar can also help! We invite your entire family to join us for our R.W.D. (Read. Watch. Discuss) book series and movie event featuring "Mary Poppins Returns."

Borrow a copy of P.I. Traver's original book, Mary Poppins before joining us for the film and discussion. All ages are invited.
