Welcome back for another summer of fun! Join our Summer Challenge to earn prizes, grab a book, download an e-Book, join us at one of our events, or reach out for reading recommendations from your librarians. Can’t wait to see you!
We're offering prizes for everyone who completes a set number of challenges in this year's event. To join, you'll want to stop by the Library to grab your challenge sheet from the Teen Lounge.
Last but not least, the Middlesex Middle School Reading Ambassadors have selected 13 books you may want to pick up. A huge thank you to the 6th and 7th grade Reading Ambassadors for sharing their favorite books for Summer Reading 2023!
How to Play
June 20th through September 1st
Choose your own challenges this summer to join the fun!
- Download the game card or pick up a game card in the Teen Lounge.
- Complete challenges for a varying amount of points:
- See game card for 1-point challenges.
- Attend any Teen program to earn 2 points.
- Complete a reading challenge to earn 3 points.
- Send in a video book review to earn 5 points!
- Tally your points and return your sheet to finish your challenge!
Finishing Your Challenge
Return your game card to the Teen Lounge or submit your entry by taking a photo of your completed game card and emailing it to morobona@darienlibrary.org with the subject heading “Teen Summer Challenge.”

Prizes
After you have completed your challenges and tallied your points, find out what prizes you can earn below. Each tier has its own prize to be won!
- 15 points: free book and ice cream coupon
- 20 points: $10 Amazon gift card
- 30+ points: ultimate swag box
Prizes build on one another, each level also includes the prize in the point range below. Return your challenge sheet to a Teen Services Librarian at any finishing point by September 1st to collect your prizes!
