For Teens

Darien Library is currently looking for teens between the ages of 12 to 17 who are interested in volunteering in the Children’s Library. Volunteer hours are flexible as you will volunteer when it works with your schedule. We require each shift to be a minimum of 15 minutes and a maximum of 60 minutes for no more than one day per work week.

Positions include:

  • Party Patrol: help at big events like the Summer Reading finale
  • Librarian’s Assistant: public facing help in the Children’s Library
  • Behind the Scenes: non-public facing tasks and projects
  • Program Assistant: smaller program assistance and prep

If interested, please fill out the form and email it to morobona@darienlibrary.org or bring the completed form to the Children's Library.

For Adults

We are actively looking for volunteers to help capture records for our Obituaries Index Project. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who would like to participate in a community-wide legacy service. The ideal candidate will pay attention to detail and have an interest in the town’s history. Volunteers will be able to set their own hours.

Please contact Colleen Wood at cwood@darienlibrary.org for further information.!
