Event Details

Celebrate National Pet Month by meeting local Darien author, Lisa Thorén, who is the co-author of the picture book, The Love of a Dog. Lisa co-wrote the book with her daughter, Lindsay Thorén Berg, as their family always had a dog and they wanted to write a story about appreciating the love of a dog.

Families will enjoy a read-aloud and conversation with the author, followed by an art activity facilitated by the author/illustrator. 

Ages 3 and up. 

Author Bio

Lisa Thorén, an award-winning artist, has served on the Darien Arts Center board for 10 years and was president for three years. Her work is on display at the Darien Nature Center and the Darien Community Association. The Rowayton Arts Center and Stephen Mather Homestead exhibit her art, where Lisa teaches both adults and children. Lisa is also a Silvermine Guild member. Both Lisa and her daughter, Lindsay, grew up in Darien.
